How grease traps work?

1. Grease traps are designed to intercept or “trap” FOG before it enters the main wastewater
2. Grease traps consist of a large tank, to where the wastewater flows and settles.
3. Solids in the water sink to the bottom of the tank, while grease floats to the top. This leaves clear water in the middle.
4. The water then flows into a second tank where a baffle or screen traps debris and material. The clear water is discharged into the sewer system.
